Hydrophilicity and Hydrophobicity Control of Plasma‐Treated Surfaces via Fractal Parameters

It is still problematic to define a direct relationship between specific properties of nanostructured surface (e.g., wettability) and its morphology. Not surprisingly, scientists continue explore en masse the cut-and-try method. In this work, new insights are presented into correlation functional complex nanocomposites with their morphological characteristics. Using polyethylene-terephthalate (PET) as model material due importance wide use in experiments, super-hydrophilic amenable be used variety industrial applications first developed, by exposing PET samples oxygen plasma under controlled conditions. The morphology surfaces confirmed using AFM SEM techniques, wettability air oleophobic water contact angle roll-off measurements. Next, different analytical tools such Minkowski connectivity (Euler-Poincaré characteristic), Hough distributions 2D FFT applied study ordering, connectivity, fractal characteristics samples. concluded that dimension, along ordering among major nanocomposite determine many important physical chemical nanomaterials, dimension could target feature inform design fabrication technology.
